This is a common question, and briefly, a conservatory includes little brickwork, and is often designed as a room from which you can view the garden. Orangeries are more luxurious, include more brick, and are often larger.

A conservatory is also generally constructed from Upvc or aluminium, and orangeries can be too, but are often made from timber.

Both designs are well insulated to make the room a useable space year round, use modern double glazed windows and upvc doors, and can be fitted with self cleaning glass.
